Research and Planning: Serif/ Sans Serif

Serifs are the small lines tailing from the edges of letters and symbols.Serif fonts are easier to read in printed works. This is because the serif make the individual letters more distinctive and easier for out brains to recognise quickly. Without the serif, the letters are harder to read as the shape is less distinctive. For all the writing on my double-page spread as the writing will be a lot more easier to read. Especially as my magazine is a pop magazine so younger people who may be reading it need the letters to be more easy to read.

Sans Serif fonts are letters that do not have the small projecting features called "Serifs," at the end of strokes. This makes it harder to read as the letters are less distinctive but I think that the Sans serif looks a lot more professional so i will use this on for my titles and mastheads.
